    Public Transportation

The City of Madison’s Metro Transit serves Verona and other surrounding neighborhoods on a variety of bus routes. Verona is served by Routes 55 and 75, with departure points at the Epic Campus. This bus stop is just 2.5 miles from Prairie Oaks.


    Parks and Recreation

    Verona is a center of recreational opportunities for the entire region as it serves as a crossroads for the National Ice Age Trail and the Military Ride State Bike Trail. These two trails run directly through the center of Verona, providing a fantastic natural setting with walking and bicycle connections throughout the surrounding communities.

    In addition, there are hundreds of acres of parkland situated throughout Verona that provide multiple opportunities for walking, jogging and biking. Verona features recreational outlets at the Reddan Soccer Park and the Eagle’s Nest Ice Arena. In addition, the city’s Ceniti Park provides a football, baseball and lacrosse facility on East Verona Avenue.

    Verona is home to the Verona Performing Arts Center, which is a non-profit community arts organization that brings a variety of musical performances to town. Performances take place throughout the year, with everything from pianists to tribute bands. Verona also features the Verona Wine Cellar, a locally owned and operated wine shop that is well known as a gathering place for wine tastings.

    Since Verona is just a short drive away from Madison, residents have access to many additional sights and attractions including the Olbrich Botanical Gardens, Henry Vilas Zoo and Chazen Museum of Art.

    Although the Madison metropolitan area offers plenty of shopping opportunities, residents can find just about anything right in town.
